--Pergola workshop-- Monkeys Retreat Tai Chi and Chi Kung

Qi (Chi) can mean "breath", but a more accurate term is Vital Energy or Life Force.

Qigong (Chi Kung) is the science of cultivating the body's internal energy.

We will be teaching Ba Duan Jin (8 Section Qigong aka 8 pieces of Brocade) which is one of the oldest and most popular forms of Health Exercise in China.

It features a combination of Body Movements, Deep Breathing, and Spiritual Regulation.

Monkeys Retreat Tai Chi and Chi Kung Center began in 1975 as a school for their Sifu Dr. Fred Wu and a center to learn about Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Martial Arts and Healing.

They teach Lee's Modified Yang Style Tai Chi, an internal style, and Chinese Shamanic Tiger Qigong (Lauhu Gong).

Ro-Z and Darryl Mendelson started taking Tai Chi Chuan lessons with Sifu Dr. Fred Wu in 1973. In 1975 they started teaching classes under his direction. They continued studying with him until his death in 2000 and continue to teach his Lee's Modified Yang Tai Chi form.

Since Dr. Wu's death, they have learned Chen style from Master Chen Qingzhou, 19th generation lineage holder of the form and they currently teach Shamanic Tiger Qigong which they learned from Master Zhongxian Wu.

Men and women of all ages train together towards physical health benefits, self-defense, confidence, self-discipline, stress relief, happiness, and respect to others.

They enjoy teaching and studying the different paths by which one goes about locating and cultivating chi in order to attain health, happiness, and longevity.
